It is with great pleasure that Nestor Advisors announces the return of Emmanuel Maurice to our senior advisor ranks after an 18 month “break” during which he assumed the position of General Counsel ad interim at IFAD, the UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development. Emmanuel, formerly the General Counsel of EBRD, will take a leading role in servicing clients in the IFI/ DFI world as well as other international organisations.
George Papaconstantinou is another important addition to our expanding senior advisors team. George’s focus will be on governance-related policies and institutions, with a special focus on state ownership management and privatisation. George was the Greek Minister of Finance from 2009-2011 with a direct responsibility over these areas. He has also served as a Minister of Energy and the Environment, where he oversaw energy liberalisation and governance improvements in the sector, and as a member of Greek parliament and an MEP. In the earlier part of his career, George was a senior economist at the OECD focusing on innovation policies. He holds a PhD in economics from the London School of Economics and a Masters degree from New York University.
Nestor Advisor is also very pleased to announce that Peter Tropper has joined our team as a special advisor on matters of investment governance and process. Until 2014, Peter was the Chief Investment Officer of the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group. As head of IFC’s Private Equity Funds group, he oversaw more than 200 funds across emerging markets in a portfolio of more than $3.5 billion.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that Daniel Genberg has joined us as a special advisor focusing on not-for-profit organisations. Daniel has worked at senior levels in a number of international organisations (IPPF, ActionAid International, Amnesty International), and has in undertaken numerous assignments as an independent consultant.
